We all knew about Batman, a dark hero who was always there to ensure that Gotham City was safe and kept in order. We all knew about Superman who can fly high in the sky, do extraordinary things with extra super power to save lives. To us they are all superheroes.
But superheroes come in many sizes and shapes. They actually exist in real life, saving peoples lives everyday. What if I tell you that you can also be one of them?
Yes, you.
Last week my friend in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia asked me to accompany him for his first blood donation. The blood donation event was held in conjunction with the Youth Festival 2014. Sadly, I’ve already been booked that Saturday to attend a seminar, so I couldn’t come.
I’ve been a blood donor since 2009, the same year that I first enrolled in the higher educational institution. Since then I became an active regular blood donor, since then I‘ve became a superhero.
Many of us think that we need to do extraordinary things to become superhero, we need superpower and special costumes to save lives, but in reality actually we don’t. All you need is a heart and a small act of kindness. One of the simple act that you can do to save life is by donating blood.
There is a lot of misconception about blood donation in the society, to clear this misconception I recommend you to check malaysiablooddonors.org . You can also can gain a good tips there about the fact and procedure of blood donation.
So, what are you waiting for? Start donating. Be a SUPERHERO!
