I woke up at 2.30 am today to pick up a friend that just return from the Penang Bridge International Marathon 2014. We arrived back in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia at around 3 am.
I’ve been thinking, it has been a long time since I joined any running event. I love running, and I ran a lot. It’s just lately, I have to cope with many things and don’t have time to join any running event.
That feeling when your legs are extra exhausted, your throat is screaming for water but you keep running, never wanted to stop and remembered the first moment why you started. That feeling I kinda thought is the same feeling that we have in our lives. When you stuck in your studies or career, all you need to do is keep going and keep reminding yourself, why do you started in the first place.
Running is some sort of motivation to live life, like The All-American Reject said in their song:
When all you got to keep is strong. Move along, move along like I know you do. And even when your hope is gone, move along, move along just to make it through.
Beside giving you motivation, running comes with a lot more good reasons. One of the exciting fact is that, studies show that you can live longer when you run regularly. To dig more about why you should run regularly, check out this convincing article by Kissairis Munoz on Greatist.
