Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) continue to surprise the nation with its contribution to the community. The flood that hit east coast of Malaysia early this year, saw UTM big effort in the participation to help the affected people in the flood ravaged area. UTM does not only sent volunteers to the ground to help ease the condition, but also sending their innovation and expertise.
Recently, UTM has sent Ultrafiltration Reverse Osmosis Plant to the peoples in Kampung Acheh, Pekan, Pahang. This plant is the research product of Prof Dr Ahmad Fauzi Ismail from AMTEC UTM.
The equipment have a capacity to directly filter 5000 litres of water per hour from rivers or flood, and can be consume directly without boiling the water to drink. Prof Dr Ahmad Fauzi hoped that the government can provide atleast 10 set of the portable water filter to each state in Malaysia.
