The severe flood that recently hit east Malaysian peninsula slowly recede. While many part of the affected area remain cut off from major towns but the water level has saw a significant drop, yet many are still stranded.

The floods caused by the monsoonal rain killed 10 peoples this year in Malaysia and 161,000 were estimated displaced. The state of Kelantan is heavily affected in this year seasonal floods.

One of the worst area devastated by these floods was Manik Urai, a small town in the state of Kelantan which located 25 kilometres from Kuala Krai. The horrible scene of the town can be seen as the water recede, the town is fully destructed. The scene is no less severe than the scene of the town hit by tsunami.

Most of the houses, townhalls, and shops were drifted away by the floods. You can also see cars piled up on top of each other.

Meanwhile, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia have form a floods task force to assist the affected peoples especially students that stranded in their area and cannot return to the campus. The UTM 24 hours operation room can be contacted through the hotline 07-5530014 .
