Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has once again set a mark on history for been the first university in Malaysia having the high technology Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Testing Laboratory.
The labarotary development which cost almost 3 millions ringgit will boost the university’s capacity in developing advance medical appliances. The move will encourage more research effort and industrial partnership in the field of medical engineering.
Prof Dr. Jasmy Yunus, the dean of FBME said to the press that EMC approval certificate is the main criteria for Ministry of Health for a certain medical appliances to be develop.
Prof Jasmy also said that FBME is ready to cooperate with industry to test their product at the same time give the opportunity for student to do the test for their studies. He also said that the services is not only targeted to the local interested parties but also will be open for all ASEAN region.
