You may have heard about aeronautic in your life, but have you ever heard about Mars One?

It is a mission to establish permanent human settlement on Mars, often refer as the Red Planet. While the feasibility of the project is still on the debate with some estimates show that the mission will experience it fatality in 68 days, the mission set that the first humans to land on Mars will be on 2025, that is 11 years from now.

Recent news indicate that China also interested in sending mission to Mars by 2020. With huge challenge, the mission plan unlike Mars One is unmanned. I am not interested in discussing the technical aspect whether human can live in Mars or not, but rather go back to the much more fundamental question.

Do we really need to live in Mars?

You see, my thought is that the blue planet that we’re living today is perfect, it is our home. We might face some challenges like overpopulation or sustainable economic growth, but I think this challenge is much more reasonable to be solved rather than migrating to another planet.

I just wondering if the huge amount of resources human had invested to explore the outer space can be channel to the development of sustainable growth on this planet, it will be much more helpful.

What do you say?
