Sleep is one of the most important factor to determine ones health condition. Over slept or not getting enough sleep might give a bad effect for you. So, what are the numbers?
According National Institutes of Health, the hours required by individuals vary with age. Teenagers need to sleep 8 to 10 hours a day, while adult need 7 to 9 hours sleep to stay at their best form. Newborn however need almost 12 to 18 hours of sleep!
- Sleeping is found to have a good effect on your memory. The rapid-eye-movement sleep (REM) is said to be helpful in memorizing the learned material that you have read.
- Sleeping actually deprive you from having lots of deseases. Reducing your sleep only by two hours might give you a higher chance to get disease like obesity, diabetes, and also cardiovascular related disease. So, if you want to be thin, you actually need to sleep more!
- Sleeping also improve sex life. Studies found that if you are sleep-deprived you will have a less interest in sex. Men also will have low testosterone levels in this kind of condition.
